All Universal RAI (URAI) series Blowers are heavy duty rotary Blowers in a compact, sturdy design engineered for continuous duty and maximum reliability. These Blowers have a time tested lubrication system. Roots exclusive “–figure-8”” gearbox design improves oil distribution to the timing gears and lengthens bearing life. This URAI Blower combines the WHISPAIR design with the dual splash lubrication feature to offer the longest life and quietest performance of the URAI series.

The Roots Whispair URAI-J-DSL models stand out with their advanced noise reduction technology:

  • Whispair™ Feature: Reduces noise levels by approximately 3 to 5 dBA compared to conventional units under similar operating conditions, thanks to a computer-designed cast relief for noise and shock suppression.

Performance Specifications

  • Flow Range: 75 CFM to 567 CFM, suited for a wide range of air handling capacities.
  • Pressure Range: 1 psi to 13 psi, accommodating both low and moderate pressure uses.
  • Vacuum Range: 1″ Hg to 16″ Hg, effective for diverse vacuum applications.

Durability and Construction

  • Casing: Durable cast iron construction ensures long-term reliability.
  • Gears: Carburized and ground alloy steel spur timing gears, taper mounted and secured with a locknut, provide smooth and precise operation.
  • Impellers: Cast iron involute impellers are designed for efficient airflow.
  • Bearings: Oversized anti-friction bearings, including a cylindrical roller bearing at the drive shaft, handle the demands of V-belt operations.

Dual Splash Lubrication System

  • Enhanced Lubrication: Features oil lubrication at both the drive and gear ends, with an exclusive “figure-eight” gearbox design that enhances oil distribution and extends the life of gears and bearings.
